Coolidge Baptist Church is looking for a part-time Worship Leader
Position Overview
Coolidge Baptist Church is looking for a part-time Worship Leader to guide our Sunday morning worship and provide leadership for our choir. This role involves planning worship services, leading congregational singing, and helping cultivate a healthy, growing choir ministry.
We believe a worship leader does more than choose songs or conduct a service. He shepherds God’s people by helping them sing truth, respond to the Word, and grow in their love for Christ. Our desire is for worship that is centered on God’s glory, shaped by Scripture rather than preference, and reflected not only on Sundays but in everyday life.
Candidate Profile
The person we’re looking for is a spiritually mature man who loves the local church and sees worship ministry as a calling, not just a position. He desires to be an active, faithful member of Coolidge Baptist Church and to share fully in the life of the congregation. Our recent worship survey confirmed that our church deeply values God-centered worship and a leader who cares for hearts as much as he leads music.
He is doctrinally sound and in agreement with our church covenant. He is committed to leading worship that is biblically faithful, Christ-centered, and rich in truth. His walk with the Lord is evident in a consistent prayer life, humility, and a reliance on God rather than on personal skill alone. He seeks to grow personally and musically so that he can better serve the church.
We are also looking for someone who values unity and teamwork. He works joyfully under the leadership of the pastor, is teachable and relational, and seeks to build others up rather than draw attention to himself. He understands that worship leadership is as much about shepherding people as it is about directing music.
Musically, he is able to lead congregational singing with confidence. He has a heart for the choir—not only helping them grow musically, but encouraging them spiritually as well. He can cast vision for the worship ministry, invite and encourage volunteer involvement, and remain flexible and creative in serving the needs of the congregation.

About Coolidge
Coolidge is a small town in southwest Georgia with a close-knit, family-oriented community. Life here moves at a slower pace, but nearby cities offer access to work, shopping, and activities. It’s a welcoming place, and many of our church families are deeply connected to the community.
Coolidge Baptist Church was founded in 1901 when sixteen believers gathered in the newly established town of Coolidge. For more than a century, the church has grown alongside the community, seeking to honor God through faithful ministry. A new sanctuary was dedicated in 1950, and in 2012 the church moved the building across the highway to a larger property. In 2015, a Family Life Center was added to create space for fellowship and ministry opportunities.
We are a multi-generational congregation with people of all ages. On a typical Sunday, we average about 45 in Sunday School and around 80 in worship, with an average age of 45–50. Though modest in size, we are experiencing steady growth of about 11% per year.
Our worship style is blended. We value the rich theology of traditional hymns while also embracing modern songs that are biblically sound. Our congregational worship survey confirmed that our people want to preserve this balance. We hope for a worship leader who selects music that clearly points to God’s character and communicates meaningful truth, rather than relying on emotion or tradition alone. We have a small but faithful choir and would love to see it encouraged and strengthened.
Above all, we desire to grow as a community of disciples who love Christ and live according to His Word. We long to see people of every generation maturing in their faith, serving one another, and reaching our community with the gospel—remaining faithful to Scripture while nurturing the next generation and strengthening the ministries God has entrusted to us.
